Today I'm going to show you my quick and easy recipe for the perfect combination of crunchy nuts and delicious spices. This homemade nut mix is packed with nutrients and is an ideal snack for between meals or a cosy evening at home.
Nut mix:
Ingredients
500g various nuts and seeds (e.g. walnuts, almonds, pecan kernels, hazelnuts, cashews, peanuts, macadamia nuts)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 teaspoon paprika powder, sweet
1 tsp paprika powder, smoked
1/2 tsp cayenne
1 pinch of salt (grainy sea salt tastes particularly good)
1-2 tbsp olive oil
Preparation
Place the nuts in a bowl and mix with the oil so that all the nuts are covered
Add the spices.
Spread the nut mixture on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Roast the nuts at 160 degrees fan or 180 degrees top and bottom heat for 15-20 minutes.
Keep stirring as the nuts (especially the walnuts) burn quickly. Shorten the baking time if necessary.
Of course, there are plenty of nut mixes on the market, but you often don't know exactly what's in them. That's why I like to make my own mix. It's also often much cheaper - and above all tastier!
